饮光画廊得名于释迦牟尼佛大弟子迦叶尊者的梵文名。迦叶尊者本身不发光，但他能够吸收日、月之光芒，给人们带来光明。我们以此命名就是希望画廊能够博彩传统和现代艺术，并将其中的精品呈现给观赏者和收藏者

画廊主要推介中国西南地区具有相当名望的成熟艺术家的作品，同时也会发掘和展示有潜力的年轻艺术家的作品。我们注重艺术品的原创性和品质。展出的作品覆盖多个艺术种类，绘画作品通常有油画、原创版画、水彩、中国水墨画，工艺艺术种类主要是掐丝唐卡。

饮光画廊所展示、销售的作品均由艺术家本人提供。除艺术品展示、销售以外，我们也会定期组织其它的艺术活动和短期培训课程。
